Christmas Appeal gives a helping hand for local charities

Since launching in 2004, the Quicksilver Group’s Annual Christmas Charity Appeal has become a much-valued tradition and one that local charities have come to rely upon for community support.

The Salvation Army Cairns, Mossman Support Services and St Vincent de Paul Cairns are once again the recipients of food, gifts and essential items donated through this year’s Appeal.

“We’re very proud of the impact our annual Christmas Charity Appeal has had over many years – largely thanks to the wonderful generosity and support from our local suppliers, industry colleagues and our own Quicksilver Group family.” said Tony Baker, Quicksilver Group Managing Director.

All donated goods are distributed directly by the charities to families and individuals in need, helping to make a difference - and this time of year that bit brighter for less fortunate and vulnerable members of our community.

Major Ben Johnson of the Salvation Army said, “The donations from this Appeal will greatly assist many people who are struggling, so they can experience a more joyful Christmas, feel valued and celebrate along with the rest of our community.”
