Just 27 km from Cairns is Green Island, a beautiful 6000 year old coral cay in the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and home of our exciting, unique “underwater walking” helmet dive experience. Welcome to Seawalker Green Island!
Since 2003, Seawalker Green Island has been showing guests the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef up close and personal. It’s perfect for non-swimmers to enjoy an amazing in-water reef experience.
From the Seawalker platform moored in the shallow reef environment of Green Island, guests descend to a depth of approximately five metres (16 ft). It’s a unique experience in that you walk on the sea floor at our specially selected reef site to truly “Seawalk” surrounded by colourful tropical fish and coral.
With the helmet comfortably on your shoulders, fresh oxygen flows enabling you to breath normally. Your hair and head stays dry and you can even wear glasses. It’s a fun and engaging adventure that can be shared with family and friends. Seawalker is an optional activity available to be booked with Great Adventures’ Green Island cruises.
Seawalker Green Island joined the Quicksilver Group family in April 2018. Seawalker Green Island is accredited with Advanced Ecotourism Certification and proud recipient of Queensland Tourism Awards “Adventure Tourism” Award.
