Diving into the future Pro Dive Cairns expansion

Pro Dive Cairns, one of the Tropical North's oldest and best known diving schools, has completed a $1.5million refurbishment and expansion of its diver training facilities to meet the increased demand for their dive courses and training services.

Pro Dive Cairns' new upgraded dive centre includes:

  • An additional 4 metre deep heated diver training pool.
  • 3 new air-conditioned classrooms.
  • Additional bathrooms, change rooms and staff facilities.
  • A makeover of the existing infrastructure.
Rod Punshon, Managing Director of Pro Dive Cairns, said, "Due to the demand for our dive courses over the past few years we needed both extra classroom and pool capacity. The additional capacity that we've created with this expansion will place us in an ideal position to cope with the increasing demand for our dive courses which include everything from beginner level training through to the professional courses like Dive Master and Instructor programs. Previous to this expansion we were limited in the amount of people we could cater to on any given day by classroom and pool capacity.

By providing improved, state of the art facilities to our clients we will further cement Pro Dive Cairns reputation as one of Australia's premier PADI dive schools as well as a leading Outer Reef liveaboard dive trip operator."

Tony Baker, Managing Director of the Quicksilver Group highlighted "This expansion is in line with the region's tourism theme of Adventurous by Nature and we believe Pro Dive's expanded dive centre will assist more visitors to have an up close personal experience with the Great Barrier Reef".

Taking advantage of their new facilities, from early 2012 Pro Dive will increase their current product range to include a 4-day learn to dive course and a 2 day / 1 night dive and snorkel trip departing 3 times each week.
