Green Island Family Day benefits animal charities

Following our annual charity beach volleyball event, part of the annual Great Adventures Green Island Family Day, we were pleased to donate some much-needed funds to two very deserving animal charities.

The beach volleyball challenge featuring 16 competing teams raised $1444 for the Young Animal Protection Society (YAPS) and the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre.

Sponsored by Great Adventures and Green Island Resort with the support of Cairns Indoor Sports, players receive free travel to Green Island with the registration fee donated to charity.

These animal charities are wonderful community organisations and we’re very pleased to be able to support the great work they do. Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre had recently cared for an injured turtle that Quicksilver rescued in the Dickson Inlet, Port Douglas.

This year’s volleyball challenge winners were the team from Seawalker, while the wooden spooners, the TTNQ “Cairns Great Up Top Fun Down Under” team, were just as proud.
