Quicksilver Cruises, a leading name in marine tourism, is seeking a Dive Operations Manager to lead our diving and lifeguard operations. 

About the role

The Dive Operations Manager is a dynamic role that has two key areas of responsibility:

Dive Shop and Training Operations – overseeing the management of the Quicksilver Dive School facility and on-site Retail Shop, including staff training, guest bookings and retail inventory;

Vessel-Based Dive and Lifeguard Operations – leading dive and lifeguard teams across our fleet, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of in-water activities on the Great Barrier Reef.

This is a hands-on leadership role that balances guest service, safety, logistics and team development across land-based and vessel operations.

Your key focus areas will include:

  • Ensure the smooth, efficient and safe day to day operational management of:
    • Dive operations (including lifeguards)
    • Dive School Facility
    • Retail Shop
  • Monitor expenditure and revenue performance across dive, lifeguard, and retail operations, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Recruit, train, supervise and mentor a team of divers and lifeguards to maintain a skilled, motivated, and safety-conscious team
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages professional growth, accountability, and high performance.
  • Ensure our dive equipment is maintained to an industry leading standard and sufficient stocks of snorkel, dive and first aid equipment is held to meet passenger and servicing demands.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture through proactive leadership and compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and company WHS policies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven leadership experience in dive operations or marine tourism
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diving safety and risk management
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility with the ability to work regular weekend work, in line with vessel schedules and operational demands.
  • Retail or dive school management experience is advantageous

Required Qualifications:

  • Senior First Aid Qualification
  • PADI Dive Instructor Qualification
  • Occupational Diving Medical Examination
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Current Driver’s Licence
