Pro Dive Cairns, a leader in liveaboard diving experiences on the Great Barrier Reef, is seeking a skilled Cook to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our guests and crew on board our dive vessels.
About the Role:
As a Cook at Pro Dive Cairns, you will be responsible for planning and preparing a variety of meals for up to 40 guests and 6 crew members on our 3-day, 2-night liveaboard trips. You will ensure meals are cooked to a high standard, catering to diverse dietary requirements while maintaining a clean and organised galley.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare a variety of healthy and hearty meals for guests and crew
- Manage food stock, storage, and ordering supplies as needed
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the galley
- Adhere to food safety regulations and dietary requirements
- Work efficiently in a small galley kitchen on a liveaboard vessel
- Collaborate with the crew to ensure smooth operations
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a marine or remote setting
- Ability to prepare meals for large groups with varied dietary needs
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a small kitchen
- A positive attitude and a team player mentality
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- A strong stomach for working at sea and the ability to adapt to a liveaboard environment
What you must have (or be willing to obtain):
- A valid Food Safety Certificate
- Senior 1st Aid and CPR
- Advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
- Current QLD Drivers licence
