About the role
As the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and efficiency of Quicksilver Group, Australia’s leading Great Barrier Reef tourism company. Reporting to Group Financial Controller, you will work in collaboration to oversee financial operations, provide strategic guidance and support the company’s goals by ensuring sound financial planning and decision-making.
Your key focus areas will include:
- Financial Management: Contribute to and oversee financial strategies, budgets and forecasts to align with business objectives; oversee and provide support to accounting function, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets management
- Financial Reporting: Manage financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards; analyse financial performance, identify trends and provide actionable insights
- Leadership and Process Improvement: Lead and mentor a diverse team to deliver accurate and timely financial outputs; and drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes and systems
- Stakeholder Management: Provide support to a team of Managers across diverse business units to ensure financial sustainability across operations and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required
About you
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the tourism, hospitality or marine industry (advantageous but not essential)
Essential Requirements
- A valid driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business-related field (CPA or CA qualification preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with systems including SAP Business One, MicroPay, HumanForce, Respax, Swiftpos and RMS (preferred but not essential)
