Many furry four-legged friends at Paws and Claws will benefit from the Quicksilver 10th annual 500 card game with a donation of $1,310. With thanks to 64 enthusiastic players from the tourism industry and friends of tourism having a day of fun and laughs on Quicksilver VIII, they also see it has an opportunity to donate to this worthy local cause.
The Paws and Claws animal shelter has now been approved by the Cairns Regional Council for the relocation and building of their new animal shelter. Port Douglas Company WAKS Development has already donated the land at Craiglie, and will begin site work in the next month. Bianca Maguire, Paws and Claws Manager said “Once the site work such as roads are completed we will be able to start building the new shelter so it will be an exciting six months ahead”.
“Paws and Claws is a wonderful community organisation caring for many homeless animals and we’re very pleased to be able to support the great work they do,” said Megan Bell, Quicksilver Group’s Media Manager.
Currently the not for profit organisation has 15 cats and 15 dogs that are looking for loving homes.
